CNS brings people and animals together in a safe, nurturing environment to see the beauty of all beings and to provide a safe space for at-risk and special needs animals.

How it Began: A Hobby Farm with A Purpose

I contemplated, worried, and procrastinated for years on starting my own farm. It had to have a purpose beyond myself. I could not purchase animals when so many beings are suffering every day. I wanted A hobby farm with a purpose. I had planned to start a sanctuary when my son grew tired of spending time with me and I had more free time. But life gives you what you need, and not always when you think you need it. Sadly, our dogs killed our beloved, 14 year old cat, Estéban while we were away on vacation. One of our dogs, Bowser, was no longer safe to keep in our home with our remaining three cats, one of which has special needs. But I could not find Bowser a home because of his special requirements, and I would not abandon him.

So, my dream of a farm was kickstarted into reality. I could no longer wait and think about it- it was now or never. Fast forward to the planning stages, and I soon found that my son actually loved going to the barn with me and cleaning stalls and feeding the horses! We found a mutual love of the outdoors I never knew we had! As we discussed plans for our farm, it became clear, he and I are in this together. We both got to enjoy the outdoors and we love thinking of ideas to show other people how special these animals truly are.

Together, my son and I have created Cold Noses Sanctuary to help special needs animals find love and be cherished as the beautiful souls they are. We hope you enjoy our little group of perfectly imperfect beings as much as we do!
