Fostering and Adopting

Fostering and adopting help our sanctuary with our mission to save at-risk animals who are currently awaiting rescue from a shelter where euthanasia is imminent. It’s a big decision as these animals have already been through so much. It is of utmost importance that if- and- when they go elsewhere, it is with honest intentions and realistic expectations. We want to do our best to ensure we minimize any and all stress on these animals, and so the screening process can be lengthy. When all is said and done though, we will have hopefully found a great fit for you and your situation.

Fostering 

Fosters are vital to our sanctuary’s success. Fostering is a great way to help so many animals and frees up space in our sanctuary for us to save another life in danger. Whether you can only foster for a short time or are available long term, we will likely have a wonderful companion that fits your lifestyle and capabilities. The first step in the process is to fill out the Dog foster application, cat foster application, or farm animal foster application. Then, we will be in contact with you regarding finding the best fit pet. Thank you for coming with us on this wonderful journey in saving lives.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide a safe, clean and compassionate environment for the animals in your care.
• Provide access to clean drinking water, litter and shelter appropriate for the animal in your care. (Each animal will come with a list of specific shelter and feed requirements)
• Provide a social environment and exercise appropriate for species.
• Monitor for physical and mental well-being
• Attend any physical therapy sessions that may be needed.
• Transport to/from any veterinary or adoption/ publicity events.
• Help facilitate adoption meet and greets at the facility.

Things to note:

• Expenses are reimbursed by the sanctuary on a monthly basis.
• You must be able to provide your lease or rental agreement paperwork if renting or leasing your residence.
• Fostering can be time consuming and unpredictable- but also rewarding beyond measure!

Adopting

With so many animals suffering in shelters, adoption is literally saving a life…and opening a space for another animal to join our sanctuary. Finding the perfect (for you) pet is exciting but requires patience and compassion. Whether you have a specific animal in mind or need some assistance with finding the best fit, we can help you pick your new best friend when you fill out the cat adoption application, dog adoption application or farm animal application.
